Using storytelling and the arts in the classroom has
proven to be an empowering and educational tool for
both the teller/ teacher and the listener/ student.

listening skills, cooperation, critical/creative thinking
skills and literacy.
workshops can be adapted to different themes and/or
curricular needs as necessary. In addition, Arianna
is accustomed to working with a wide range of physical
and mental abilities; therefore she is able to adjust
her teaching to suit different learning styles and abilities.
A single session for children is a recommended minimum
of 45 minutes. There is no maximum, as each of these
single workshops can be turned into long-term residencies.
The Artist will supply a majority of the instruments
and/or props needed for the sessions.

are a perfect genre for encouraging students' language development.
This residency helps students recognize and hear the different
phonetic sounds and the dolce while discovering how to write
a short story. Together, we write and dramatize a story using
a word containing the target sound in every sentence.
Stories in Motion
Contradiction Dance and Story Tapestries will team up to
bring this event to your venue as a workshop or residency.
Discover new techniques that you can use in the future to
give a speech, tell a story or even perform in a play or a
dance concert. Learn how to integrate creative writing, story-telling,
and dance skills into one cohesive experience. Students perform
their own "Story in Motion" as a final presentation event.

instruments from around the world. Through the art of play,
deepen your students understanding of story sequencing; increase

story of nature? Discover how many different rhythms you can
create using instruments from Brazil, Africa, India and Ireland.

Depending on the age group we would use different advanced
techniques for creating a large-scale mural. Remember: our
mural will tell a story!
